Work by Printmaker Jack Pachuta Featured this January at the Inn

Cedarburg is known as a destination where “Art is a Tradition.” We couldn’t agree more. The Washington House Inn loves the fact that the Cedarburg Artists Guild numbers over 260 members whose talents run the full gamut of artistic endeavors. To show our pride in this cadre of creativity, each month the work of one of our local artists adorns our entrance way and lobby, mesmerizing our guests in a way that is uniquely Cedarburg.

Pachuta_Night_ProwlWhen you arrive in January, you’ll be greeted by the print art of Jack Pachuta, a Cedarburg resident who was recently named a Featured Artist for this spring’s Great TV Art Auction on Milwaukee Public Television’s Channels 10 and 36. Jack’s prints have a distinctly outdoor and nature motif. His colorful, texture-filled interpretations focus on subjects ranging from timber wolves to barn owls to dragonflies, with white water canoeists thrown in for good measure. Jack feels that an artist’s role is to challenge people to see the usual in unusual ways, and to make them see what they might not have previously noticed. You’ll find that his prints do that in a very memorable way.

Pachuta_Coneflower_&_SwallowtailsIn addition to being an award-winning artist, Jack is also a mystery party writer with a worldwide clientele. His “whodunits” have been performed on six continents by those looking for a one-of-a-kind event. Incidentally, you’ll be pleased to learn that you may purchase any of the artists’ pieces on display at the Inn. That’s right – in addition to having an unforgettable stay in the turn-of-the-century historic gem of a building, you can take home art that will remind you of your stay in Cedarburg for many years to come.
