As you stroll through Cedarburg during the month of March you may wonder why large pink silken bows adorn the doorways and windows of many of the downtown businesses. This catchy visual is in place to alert the public that one of the premier shows in the Midwest is about to take place in downtown Cedarburg … the Wearable Art Show Weekend, organized by members of the Cedarburg Junior Woman‘s Club.
Festivities begin on Friday evening, March 27th, when you’re invited to dress in your prettiest pink party attire and attend the “Wearable Art After Dark” fundraiser at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. For a mere $15, not only do you get delicious appetizers, desserts and musical entertainment, but you also get a sneak peek and a chance to purchase some wonderful items that will be on sale at the Wearable Art Show the following day.
On Saturday morning the fun continues … at 9am the popular Bosom Buddy Walk/Run is set to take place, leaving from the parking lot of the Cedarburg Cultural Center. However, if that’s a bit too energetic so early in the morning, save your strength for fighting off the crowds at the Wearable Art Show. Doors to the Cultural Center open at 9:30am sharp and admission is only $5. The carefully selected vendors – more than 35 of them at last count – will be showing off unique clothing pieces, one-of-a-kind jewelry items, a selection of softly supple leather handbags and assorted other accessories designed to make the wearer stand out among a crowd.
It’s a once-a-year event, with all proceeds benefiting breast cancer education, prevention research and treatment, and everyone’s invited. Be sure to let us pamper you with our luxurious accommodations at the Washington House Inn!
