Stay in the heart of downtown at our award-winning Cedarburg inn, located just steps from all the festivities. Book your favorite room today and get ready for all things Oktoberfest!
The Music & Dance
It’s not a real celebration without some festive tunes and a dance floor. You better believe there will be nonstop dancing opportunities for you throughout the weekend. Look forward to Wisconsin Oktoberfest musical performances by the Alte Kameraden Band, Tuba Dan, and the Cedarburg Civic Band, sure to get your feet moving on said dance floor. If you prefer to watch, there will also be performances by Pommersche Tanzdeel Dancers and D’ Lustig’n Wendlstoana Dancers. Get your polka on!
The Food & Drinks
What’s a memorable Oktoberfest without the authentic German food and of course, German beer! There is plenty to be had during this 2-day festival, including the classics like Sauerbraten, Wiener Schnitzel, and Bratwurst. Wash it down with a stein of Hofbrau or a local German-style brew. There will also be fantastic wines and traditional German desserts to enjoy throughout the weekend.
The Shopping & Games
In between eating, drinking, and dancing, be sure to browse the merchant’s marketplace to check out some local artisan’s treasures. There will be several festive experiences to be had within walking distance of the festival grounds too! Local establishments like breweries, wineries, museums and popular historic sites will be open to festival-goers. Oktoberfest attendees can also partake a special Covered Bridge Studio Tour put on by the Cedarburg Artists Guild. Car aficionados can enjoy viewing new and vintage Volkswagen and Porsche models on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Feeling playful? Get your competition on with fun games and contests throughout the festival. Try your hand at a German spelling bee or the Sauerkraut eating battle! That’s not all there is to battle over of course. No Oktoberfest would be complete without…
The Lederhosen & Dirndl!
In addition to earning a championship for eating delicious pickled cabbage, you can also win the Best Dressed crown in the popular Lederhosen + Dirndl Contest. Whether you participate or not, this is a definite draw to the festival. There will be plenty of colorful people-watching, you might just be convinced that you’re roaming the streets of Munich while in Cedarburg, Wisconsin!
Mark your calendars for this year’s celebration and book your stay at Washington House Inn today! You still have time to pick out your best German garb…
