Cedarburg Artists Guild presents the Covered Bridge Art Studio Tour October 10-12, 2014
If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Ozaukee County during the month of October, there’s a real treat awaiting all art lovers. Beginning Oct. 10 through Oct. 12, Cedarburg Artists Guild members will celebrate autumn and each other by offering visitors free admittance into their home studios where creative juices are known to run freely and often. During this rare peek into the artists’ own private quarters, you will be invited to sit in on demonstrations, ask unlimited questions and indeed learn about the entire creative process that ends with a fine arts product you‘ll be eager to purchase.
Pick up a detailed map from the Cedarburg Cultural Center, just south of the inn, at W62 N546 Washington Avenue, which will show you the way to the participating studios. If you start at the northern tip of Ozaukee County, your journey will take you from Newburg to Saukville to Port Washington to Grafton to Cedarburg, where indeed the majority of the artists live and work, and finally to Thiensville and Mequon, just north of Milwaukee. Or, if you prefer, go from south to north but, whichever route you take, you’ll find a diverse mix of paintings in many formats, photography, monoprints, wood and metal work, jewelry design, leatherwork, pottery and sculptures. And expect a warm welcome from all the Wisconsin artists.
The tour starts on Friday, Oct. 10 (between 6pm and 9pm) and continues Saturday, Oct. 11 (10am-5pm) and Sunday, Oct. 12 (noon-4pm). Oh, and did I mention there’s a free Shindig Party at the Cedarburg Cultural Center on Saturday night to which everyone’s invited, featuring live music by Sawdust Symphony and a Silent Auction with some fabulous prizes! This is one Cedarburg weekend you definitely won’t want to miss out on.
Join us in our Cedarburg hotel for a fun filled weekend.
