The Washington House Inn is delighted to showcase a different Cedarburg Artist Guild member’s work each month. Featured pieces from their collections will be displayed in both the lobby and Gathering Room of our elegant 34 room Wisconsin inn, located in the heart of the downtown Cedarburg Historic District. The March artist is watercolorist Bruce Hustad. His impressive works featuring spring flowers are a joy to behold after this long winter at last coming to its end. The lobby is always open, stop in and enjoy this first breath of spring.
Bruce describes his art this way: “I use watercolor to create works that have a bright, clean, crisp look; one that is contemporary in its color and style, yet traditional in subject matter. The strong frontal image grabs the viewer and holds him with its visual impact. I use the flower because of its inherent sensual qualities of color and form. The paintings are rich images in style and simplicity, qualities that heighten their expressive impact. The flowers retain their botanical integrity while still expressing a personal and unique style.”
