Singer-songwriter will charm music lovers Easter Saturday
April 18th, 2014
If you happen to be staying at the Washington House Inn over Easter weekend, why not enjoy a concert taking place nearby on Saturday night!
Sally Barris, a singer-songwriter who hails from Minnesota and currently lives in Nashville, is the featured artist in the Wisconsin Singer-Songwriter Series. Sallie’s music, described by music lovers as coming “straight from the heart,” will lead you on a journey that blends bluegrass, country, Celtic, English folk or maybe a mixture of all the different genres that come together to create the very best of American music. The Mequon venue – the Unitarian Church North at 13800 N. Port Washington Road – is almost as interesting as the singer. An easy 10-minute drive from the inn, the building is a faithful reproduction of one of the octagonal Clausing barns constructed throughout Ozaukee County in the 1800s. The clumps of native grasses and prairie flowers surrounding the church fit right in with the rural natural beauty of the structure and make it a sight to behold during spring and summer.
